Graduating students may register to participate in the AI convocation by accessing the RSVP links on their My ASU graduation tab. See link: https://graduation.asu.edu/rsvp-attendceremony

The AI Convocation will be held at the Grady Gammage Auditorium, Tempe Campus.

Yes. Wheelchair or limited mobility seating is available. See Gammage entrance attendant for assistance.

All graduates must wear their caps, gowns and tassels during the ceremony. Regalia may be worn under a graduation gown.

  3. For the best shipping rates, order early. Rushed shipping may be available. NOTE: If shipping is not an option, limited items will be available at the ASU bookstore for in-store purchases and pick-up.
  4. Other graduation items: Souvenir tassels (with the graduation year) are a popular add-on for a graduation keepsake, or other available items through the ASU Bookstores.

Honor cords can be picked up at any University Registrar's Office.

An undergraduate student must have completed at least 56 credit hours of resident credit at ASU to qualify for graduation with academic recognition for a baccalaureate degree.

Academic recognition is granted to undergraduate candidates only, based on the appropriate grade point average. Summa Cum Laude = Maroon and Gold, 3.80 to 4.00 GPA Magna Cum Laude = Gold, 3.60 to 3.79 GPA Cum Laude = Maroon, 3.40 to 3.59 GPA

Yes. AISSS has a limited number of caps and gowns for loan to students. Cap and gown inventory is available on a first-serve basis.

During the in-person Convocation ceremony, participating graduates will be presented with a commemorative Pendleton Stole.

Yes! Graduation ceremonies are open to all ASU students and their guests. Graduating students must RSVP to attend ceremonies.

Graduates do not require a ticket.


There is no limit to the number of guests per graduate, however every guest (including children) must have a numbered ticket for assigned seating. Note - all guests must be present to receive their tickets.

Tickets will be available at no charge to guests. 

Distribution of tickets will start at 3:00pm on the day of the ceremony. Look for signage on the Northeast side of Grady Gammage auditorium.

There is limited ticketed ADA seating for guests who require special accommodations. One additional guest may accompany the guest in this area. To assure accessible seating for all who need to be accommodated.
