Graduates will receive, at the ceremony, a Commemorative Pendleton Stole.

Historically, blankets have been bestowed on Indigenous people to commemorate leadership and heroism. Pendleton blankets have been used for generations to signify qualities such as courage, strength, determination and bravery. In the spirit of this tradition, we honor student achievement by presenting graduates with a commemorative Pendleton stole. The stoles have the American Indian Convocation seal and the graduation year. Doctoral stoles are trimmed in black, master’s in gold and bachelor’s in maroon.
