UNI 394: Focusing on Academics
1 Credit
Students in this course will research different topics important to them and master the skills of reading, writing, presentation creation, and oral/verbal delivery of their research. This class is also an ideal course for international students. This course is offered in session B and is ideal for international students who need to complete on campus credits for their visa status.

Here are some examples of things you’d do in this course
- Introduce yourself challenge: students write a short essay in which they introduce themselves and describe what topics interest them the most.
- 3-minute presentation challenge: students present a compelling story on a topic of their choice and its significance in just three minutes, in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.
- Engage your audience challenge: students create a 3-5 minutes long presentation on a topic of their choice that uses visual and/or media aids (e.g., pictures, video clips, GIFs).
