Here are some examples of things you’d do in this course

  • Project: Tell your story, your way. This project invites you to creatively reflect on your semester through any digital medium—whether it’s a video, website, collage, or something totally unique. It’s your chance to showcase how you’ve grown, what’s inspired you, and the moments that mattered most.
  • Activity: Debates based on a topic of interest You will collaborate in small groups to research, plan, and debate solutions to specific legal, social, or policy issues. Through this process, you will engage in active listening, consensus-building, and conflict resolution. Your team will present arguments and defend its position in two debates.
  • Lecture:  Self-Care & Acceptance - Turning Stress Into Strength: Defining stress, reframing stress in terms of how it affects critical thinking. Stress is often seen as a roadblock to creative problem solving, but it doesn’t have to be. In this session, students will redefine what stress means, explore how it impacts critical thinking, and learn to reframe it as a tool for achieving goals. Activities include a mindfulness meditation, coloring mandalas, and reflecting on wellness through a good health worksheet.

 arc What students think

It taught me that there are always two sides to an argument. Although some sides can be more favorable for most, it is important to understand perspective and be open to thinking critically about new ideas.
