Arizona State University's Academic Support Network (ASN) is developing AI-powered TutorBots to enhance its Online Study Hub and provide students with personalized, self-guided academic assistance and tutoring. These intelligent chatbots will offer round-the-clock support tailored to specific ASU courses, helping students access resources, get answers to common questions, and build academic confidence at their own pace. The work will explore a variety of intelligent agents such as Stellia.ai and OpenAI—while focusing on building the infrastructure and content needed to launch and scale a responsive, effective TutorBot experience across the university.

Enhance Student Access to Academic Support
Provide 24/7, personalized assistance through AI-powered TutorBots to complement existing Online Study Hub resources.
Develop Scalable AI Infrastructure
Build the technical foundation required to deploy, manage, and expand AI chatbots across a wide range of ASU courses and subjects.
Partner with faculty to create High-Quality, Course-Aligned Content
Design and structure content that aligns with specific course materials, ensuring the TutorBots deliver accurate, relevant, and useful academic support.
Pilot and Evaluate Multiple AI Solutions
Collaborate with partners such as Stellia.ai and assess other options like OpenAI to identify the most effective and ethical chatbot platforms for ASU’s needs.
Ensure Accessibility, Privacy, and Responsible AI Use
Design the TutorBot experience with a focus on accessibility, data security, and adherence to ethical guidelines in the use of AI technologies.
Build a Framework for Continuous Improvement
Collect user feedback and usage data to refine chatbot interactions, expand content coverage, and improve system performance over time.
Create a Model for University-Wide Implementation
Establish a replicable and sustainable process to extend TutorBot capabilities to additional academic programs and student services.
