Dean's Welcome

Welcome to University College!

ASU University College Dean Sukhwant Jhaj

Welcome to Arizona State University!

I am delighted that you have chosen ASU, the nation's most innovative university, to help realize your dreams. As Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Education is a ticket to personal growth, confidence, opportunity and mobility. University College’s goal is to make your educational experience work for you.

The college’s tutoring and academic success courses and individualized learning plans are designed to support you from the very first day of classes, and even before that, as you imagine who you could become. American Indian Student Support Services supports, promotes and assists American Indian students in becoming academically and personally successful at ASU.

For incoming freshmen, we’re home to the university’s First-Year Success Center. There is also the LEAD (Learn, Explore, Advance, Design) program, which boosts professional skills and networking with students, mentors and faculty members. Among our specialized programs is the Bridging Success Early-Start Program, which supports first-year students who are transitioning from foster care.

There are also summer programs for high school students at ASU, including the Asian Pacific Advocacy, Culture and Education (APACE) Academy, the Indigenous Imagination InitiativeInspire Camp and an online skills-building resource, JumpStart.

The right person at the right time can change a life. Let us help you achieve your dreams.

Sincerely,

Sukhwant Jhaj
