How to Transfer Courses to ASU

While most courses taken at a regionally accredited college or university are transferable, many issues impact how courses apply to a given degree program. As a prospective transfer student, you are strongly advised to obtain the guidance of the academic advisor at your current institution. You may also choose to meet with a transfer advisor at ASU.

Start by reviewing ASU’s Transfer Policies. This will help you understand the policies and procedures ASU uses to determine if your courses are transferable, and how they would apply to different degree programs.

Utilize the Transfer Toolbox. The toolbox has many links which will assist you with planning which courses to take at your institution before transferring to ASU, including links for course equivalencies, General Studies searches, and curriculum check sheets.

Visit the Arizona Course Applicability System (CAS). Arizona universities and community colleges have worked together to develop a system for helping you see how courses taken at any Arizona public community college will transfer to a selected major. CAS provides information on courses, course equivalencies, and program requirements at a CAS institution to anyone who accesses a CAS website. In addition, for students who set up a free “CAS Member” account, CAS provides information on how their specific coursework will transfer and apply towards a degree at a CAS institution. The CAS Planning Guide allows you to see how your Arizona community college courses transfer to ASU.
